Sterling hit by $2.5m fine
OWNER of Los Angeles Clippers Donald Sterling has received a life ban from the National Basketball Association and fined $2.5m (£1.5m) after making racist remarks.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver also said Sterling, recorded asking a woman not to post pictures of herself on the internet with black people, or bring them to matches, would be forced to sell his interest in the team.
Five of the Clippers 10 principle sponsors, including Mercedes-Benz USA, ended their association with the basketball giants this week.
