Froch laughs off Groves’ game plan and promises a knock out
WORLD super-middleweight champion Carl Froch is unconvinced by George Groves’ meticulously laid out game plan for tomorrow night’s bout at the Manchester Arena, insisting the challenger is more likely to “run for his life” than stand and fight.
Former British champion Groves, 25, stated his intention to launch two big right-hand punches in the first round then look to win the jab exchanges and keep Froch on the back foot.
But Froch said: “You’re getting annihilated. You know it and everyone knows it.
“He’s going to run for his life, jab and grab and try to get through it, he’s not going to stand and fight.
“I’m really hoping he does have a fight with me because that’s exactly what we want. It will be a big, big mistake, he’s going to get knocked out.”
But Groves responded: “Carl is fighting against himself psychologically and he is losing.
“I’ve never been knocked out, but Carl says I’m ‘chinny’. He’s contradicted himself so often it’s hard to follow.”
