Haskell back in England frame
ENGLAND back-row James Haskell is ready to be unleashed against world champions New Zealand in their opening clash of the autumn programme after recovering from a mystery illness which left him hospitalised.
The 29-year-old Wasps skipper was admitted to Charing Cross Hospital with suspected meningitis and lost 5kg in a week.
Haskell has missed the Coventry-bound outfit’s last two European showdowns with Leinster and Harlequins but expects to resume full training with Stuart Lancaster’s side tomorrow. He said: “I would be extremely disappointed if my illness was a factor in whether I am involved or not. As of tomorrow, I will be back in the full mix.”
