Farah pulls out of London race
DOUBLE Olympic champion Mo Farah has been forced to rethink his Commonwealth Games preparations after pulling out of a 10km road race in London this weekend.
The Briton had been due to make his first competitive appearance since the London Marathon at the Bupa London 10,000 on Sunday, but announced his withdrawal yesterday.
Farah confirmed last week that he would run at this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, which start in July, as he switched focus back to shorter distances.
He finished eighth on his marathon debut, setting a new English record, but is preparing to return to the track, though he has yet to reveal which events he will enter in Scotland.
“He took a few weeks off training and just resumed jogging 10 days ago,” his agent Ricky Simms said.
Farah won 5,000m and 10,000m gold at the London 2012 Olympics but could run the 1,500m in Glasgow, having broken the British record last year.
