Murray avoids top seed Djokovic but set to face Federer at O2 finals
BRITAIN’S Andy Murray has been drawn in the same group as second seed Roger Federer for the ATP World Tour Finals in London, which get underway at the O2 Arena on Sunday.
Joining the duo in Group B are US Open runner-up Kei Nishikori and Canada’s Milos Raonic, who lost out to world No1 Novak Djokovic in the final of the Paris Masters at the weekend.
Top seed Djokovic, who ended Murray’s 11-match winning run in the French capital last week, joins Stan Wawrinka, Tomas Berdych and Marin Cilic in Group A.
“It’s going to be very difficult but very exciting,” said Murray. “Any of the matches could be a grand slam final so it is satisfying to play in it.”
Glasgow’s Emirates Arena, meanwhile, will stage Great Britain’s Davis Cup first-round tie with the United States in March, with Murray set to feature in fellow Scot and skipper Leon Smith’s side.
