Accor executive checks himself in to Easyhotel
EASYHOTEL has booked itself a new chief financial officer after hiring Marc Vieilledent from Europe’s largest hotel group, Accor.
Vieilledent, who was executive vice president of asset management at the French hotelier until 2013, will join easyHotel on 5 May.
He replaces Darren Mee, who left on 29 January just six months after the budget hotel chain floated on London’s junior market.
Vielledent spent 16 years with Accor, including several years in M&A and corporate finance roles. He has been running his own consultancy business since he left in 2013, advising companies on property and finance.
“Marc brings not just a strong hotel background, but also extensive experience in property,” EasyHotel’s chairman Jan Astrand said.
“He also adds international operating experience, which combines well with our international brand and will help with the rollout of more easyHotels internationally, as well as in the UK.”
Easyhotel, controlled by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou’s easyGroup holdings, has 20 “super” budget hotels in UK and Europe. It plans to use proceeds from the 2014 float to expand into “major European gateway cities”.
