Reports on bank lending to take the centre stage – London Week Ahead
THIS week will see a flurry of announcements regarding bank lending. The Bank of England on Thursday will publish the figures for its Funding for Lending scheme, followed by the latest data on the Help-to-Buy scheme the following day.
The British Bankers’ Association will publish its figures for mortgage approvals today. That will be backed up tomorrow by November data on UK house prices, courtesy of Nationwide.
No less important will be the result of the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries’ summit in Vienna, on Thursday.
Economists are increasingly expecting the cartel to take some action to prop up the international price of crude, which has plummeted below $80 a barrel in recent weeks.

There will be an annual statement from Webis Holdings.
