Retailers including Tesco, Marks & Spencer, John Lewis, Amazon and Currys PC World are gearing up for what are tipped to be some of the biggest shopping days of the year. The retailers have unveiled a whole range of deals on everything from electricals like TVs, tablets and other gadgets to designer watches, clothing and toys.
So how will cash be splashed in the UK during what has traditionally been a US spending extravaganza?
A whopping £676.5m will change hands on Manic Monday, according to research by Experian Marketing Services and online retailing trade association IMRG. This is set to be closely followed by Cyber Monday when the they expect £649.6m to be spent. Black Friday is predicted to be third, with punters expected to part with the still sizeable sum of £566m.
Spending will peak at a stupendous £470k per minute on Manic Monday. However this is closely followed by the £451k per minute retailers will rake in on Cyber Monday. Again, Black Friday lags in last place with forecast spending of £385k per minute.
With so many deals on offer Experian Marketing Services-IMRG expects retailers' website traffic to go through the roof. They will apparently enjoy a combined total of 420m views over Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Manic Monday.
