The General Election has dramatically shifted Britain's political landscape, as the Lib Dems endured a bloodbath, while they and Labour suffered as the SNP swept to victory across Scotland.
Some of the biggest political names in Westminster were ousted by rival candidates including Labour's shadow chancellor Ed Balls in Morley and Outwood.
Ukip leader Nigel Farage failed to win his seat in Thanet South, losing to the Conservatives.
Another casualty was business Secretary and Lib Dem Vince Cable who lost his Twickenham seat to the Tories, subsequently blaming the Conservatives' campaign which exploited "people's fear of a Labour government and the Scottish nationalists".
