EasyJet boss Carolyn McCall took home £7.68m in 2014
EasyJet boss Carolyn McCall has pocketed a £7.68m for her work over the last year, a drop of £92,000 on her previous year's pay.
The figure included a £677,000 base salary, a £1m bonus, £5.9m from the vesting of shares, and a £47,000 pension.
McCall's million-pound pay packet was only slightly less than last year, however her £7.77m remuneration in 2013 was a 74 per cent increase on 2012: an additional £2.7m in salary, bonuses and benefits, which caused shareholder outrage.
McCall faced another revolt over high pay this year from the low-cost airline's founder and biggest shareholder, Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou.
Sir Stelios was defeated at a shareholder meeting where the pay packet was voted through by investors who were happy with her stint in the pilot's seat.
Since McCall started in July 2010, EasyJet's share price has risen more than 300 per cent and the company has been promoted to the FTSE 100.
EasyJet eschewed its usual day for releasing details of McCall's controversial package. For the past two years, it has published its annual report on the same day as the Autumn Statement.
McCall will receive a 2.5 per cent pay rise on her salary in 2015.
Here's McCall's valubale advice on how to ask for a pay rise – if anyone knows, it's her.
