Retail data to show UK spending boost from Black Friday – London Report
Black Friday is expected to have added a healthy boost to November’s retail sales, which the British Retail Consortium is due to announce tomorrow.
Howard Archer, of Global IHS Insight, said: “While consumers are always keen to take advantage of bargains, particularly in the run-up to Christmas, the desire for bargains has undoubtedly been heightened for many people by the extended squeeze on purchasing power coming from prolonged low earnings growth.”
Other economic data due out includes manufacturing output , RICS house prices and trade balance details.
For the corporate calendar, Great Eastern Energy corp, GVC Holdings and Jelf Group are all due to report today.
Tomorrow ASOS, RWS Holdings, Victrex and Zytronic report, while on Wednesday Alternative Networks, Ashtead Group, Carillion, Micro Focus, N Brown and PZ Cussons give updates. On Thursday Darty, Go-Ahead Group, Ocado, Sports Direct, SuperGroup, Whitbread and Wood Group report, followed by Bellway.
