AIG
AIG in the UK has appointed John McClelland to the new post of head of portfolio solutions, UK. He was most recently chief operating officer within AIG’s UK commercial lines division and has over 16 years’ experience. He started his career with Aon Marine, before working for GUD and joining AIG in 2005.
BFP
The UK national wholesaler of bakery ingredients has appointed Bill Thurston as chief executive. Thurston joins from Alshaya Group, where he was vice president of the food division. He has previously held leadership roles at Langmead Farms and Vion Food Group.
City Noble
The independent pensions and investments advisory firm has appointed Gavin Moffatt as associate. He brings over 25 years’ of pensions, tax and employee benefits experience. Moffatt was previously chairman of the SPP’s Money Purchase Committee.
BJSS
The IT consultancy has appointed Lalage Burchall as lead for public sector and healthcare practices. She joins from Capgemini, where she was an executive consultant. The firm has also appointed Garry Gomersall as lead for financial services practice. He joined from Cognizant.
Rosenblatt
The independent City law firm has promoted Justin Nimmo to partner, dispute resolution. Nimmo joined the firm in 2008, and was previously with Simmons & Simmons. He has extensive experience in administrative and broadcasting law.
Arma Partners
The communications, media and technology-focused M&A advisory firm has appointed four new partners. David Creamer will be working to expand the firm’s US footprint, joining from RBC Capital Markets and Jeffries. In London, Jan Helle, David Smith and Varun Sunderraman have been promoted. Helle and Smith have more than 40 years of M&A advisory experience between them, while Sunderraman will continue growing Arma’s activities in the technology sector.
Fox Williams
The law firm has appointed Nigel Brahams as financial services partner. Brahams joins from GFI Group, where he was head of legal EMEA. He will specialise in non-contentious financial services work.
