Fairfield Energy boss to depart amid field closures in North Sea
THE BOSS of North Sea-focused oil firm Fairfield Energy is to leave after two years at the top of the company.
David Peattie joined the business from BP in 2013, having spent over 30 years at the oil major. News of his impending departure follows the announcement earlier this month that the company is decommissioning its Dunlin field cluster in the North Sea.
At the time, Peattie said: “Taking into account the asset’s lifecycle, the depressed oil price and challenging operational conditions in the North Sea, starting the decommissioning process is the most appropriate action.”
He added that the Dunlin asset had achieved “maximum economic recovery”.
Fairfield planned to float in 2010, but pulled out of its plans after failing to raise enough investor interest.
A spokesman for Fairfield declined to comment yesterday. The story was first reported by Sky News.
