Workspace acquires Amnesty building in Clerkenwell for £17m
SMALL business landlord Workspace has bought human rights charity Amnesty International’s offices in Clerkenwell for £16.55m.
The FTSE 250 company said yesterday it has exchanged contracts with Amnesty to buy 25 & 28 Easton Street, bolstering its presence in Clerkenwell, where it already owns a cluster of buildings.
The site near Exmouth Market consists of two converted warehouse office buildings spanning 21,000 square feet, which will be refurbished and let as a business centre after a two year leaseback to Amnesty, in time for the launch of Crossrail.
The deal comes after Workspace raised £96.5m via a cashbox placing last November to fund further acquisitions in core London areas. In January it bought Edinburgh House in Kennington for £25.3m and Peer House on Gray’s Inn Road for £6m.
