Women to get Super League
ENGLAND’S cricket bosses have pledged to pump £3m into a ground-breaking six-team women’s cricket Super League to start next summer.
The tournament is set to mirror the inaugural Women’s Big Bash League in Australia, which is due to start in December, and assume a T20 format initially. The plan is to attract the world’s best players to compete alongside England’s leading female cricketers.
England and Wales Cricket Board chief executive Tom Harrison said: “Today marks a major step for the women’s game in England.”
