London coffee chain surges past £600,000 crowdfunding target
ARTISAN coffee brand Notes smashed through its £600,000 fundraising target yesterday, reaching over £670,000 by last night.
The firm chose crowdfunding as its method to raise the funds, and is using the Crowdcube online platform to do so.
Over 25 per cent of the target amount was raised within 48 hours of the pitch going live on Crowdcube, which happened 11 days ago.
The company, which owns a chain of coffee shops and wine bars across London, is aiming to grow “extensively” in 2015 and 2016.
It currently runs shops in Moorgate, Canary Wharf, Trafalgar Square and Kings Cross.
Notes said it would use the investment to open up new locations across London and to expand its own coffee roastery.
The group said in a statement: “The investment will allow Notes to scale up and provide even more delicious beans to the London coffee loving masses.”
