Galliford Try awarded £360m Silvertown Way development to build 1,100 homes in Canning Town
Galliford Try has been awarded a contract by the Greater London Authority to build the £360m Silvertown Way development in Canning Town.
The project, which will be delivered through its joint venture with Thames Valley Housing Association, will see Galliford Try build more than 1,100 homes, making it the largest standalone housing scheme the company has ever undertaken.
A third of the homes will be for private market rent, through Thames Valley’s subsidiary Fizzy Living, while around 380 affordable homes will also be built for London and Quadrant Housing Association.
Galliford’s housebuilding arms, Linden Homes and Galliford Try Partnerships, will deliver the scheme, which will also have a hotel, restaurants and office space alongside the new homes.
Work on the site is expected to start next year with the first occupiers due to move in by 2018.
