Montenegro: The ideal summer home?
Its balmy climes and dramatic scenery are proving a hit with international buyers looking for a bargain.
Want an overseas property by the sea? Somewhere with scorching summers and mild winters? Dramatic views? Course you do – join the queue. There’s a reason properties in Tuscany or the south of France command eye-watering prices.
What about Montenegro? It ticks all of the above boxes and it’s a lot cheaper than buying property in the sunnier parts of western Europe. You better get in quick, though – international buyers are quickly coming around to the idea of Montenegro as a location for second homes – €48m worth of residences at the super-luxury Luštica Bay development were sold off-plan at the end of last year. The first 70 residents are due to move in by May.
The first phase of the development, which is nestled within 690 hectares of lush vegetation on the Adriatic coast, consists of 300 apartments ranging from studios to penthouses, along with a number of two and three bedroom townhouses.
“Montenegro is steadily becoming a go-to destination for those seeking an attractive lifestyle and a sound long-term investment,” says Darren Gibson, chief executive of Luštica Bay.
