Burger King delivery service launches in the UK bringing Whoppers straight to your door
Burger King has just done something everyone has been hoping a fast food chain would do for years -launch a home delivery service.
The US fast food giant is, for the very first time, offering to deliver burgers, fries (but not milkshakes) to homes across the UK in a new trial.
Customers in selected areas will get to test out the new service, which has been welcomed by Twitter as a "game changer" and "worth moving house for".
And if that's the plan, start house hunting in Gants Hill, Romford, Hornchurch and Hayes, or further afield in Skegness, Hull, Northampton and Truro. The eight restaurants will deliver within a two mile radius.
Anyone wanting to give it a go can head to burgerkingdeliveries.co.uk. Type in your postcode to check, but if you're not in luck, you can sign up to be notified when they do start delivering in your area.
Or check out the Burger King map of Britain to see if you're close by.
A national roll-out is planned for later in the year.
Burger King's marketing director Matthew Bresnahan said: "Burger King is firmly committed to delivering great-tasting food at affordable prices to all of our customers. We are extremely excited about this home delivery service trial so customers can continue to enjoy the perfect combination of taste, at great value prices, now delivered straight to their homes.”
Burger King first started trialing deliveries in the US three years ago. After discovering a new technology which prevents the food from arriving at doorsteps cold and congealed the restaurant is jumping on delivery now it can ensure a whopper arrives looking, and tasting, like it does in store.
