Robert Walters sees profits rocket 80pc in 2014
MULTINATIONAL recruiter Robert Walters yesterday reported an 80 per cent surge in profits for the year ended 31 December, citing strong net fee growth across all its regions.
Profit before tax grew to £18.2m over the period, with total revenue expanding 14 per cent to £679.6m.
On a regional basis, net fee income in the UK rose by 24 per cent, by eight per cent in Asia-Pacific, 10 per cent Europe, and 35 per cent in the rest of the world.
Chief executive Robert Walters told City A.M.: “There’s a number of reasons behind the growth. Firstly, the offices we’ve opened in emerging markets in recent years have become profitable, particularly in places such as Jakarta and Ho Chi Minh City.
“Then, the mature markets have also picked up, and within those financial services recruitment has seen a real upsurge recently.
“Another factor would be the growth of our resource solutions subsidiary, which is on track to be very successful. All of that has put us in excellent shape for the coming years.”
“In 2015, we’re looking to really build in the US. We have very successful businesses in San Francisco and New York, but I can see real growth potential on the west coast.”
