Tube strike dates announced for Saturday night 7 March over driver sacking
There's more misery for Londoners as Tube drivers have announced the dates for another strike over the sacking of a colleague.
The walkout will begin on Saturday 7 March at 9.30pm and end on Sunday 8 March 3.59am, minimising transport chaos by avoiding rush hour but potentially leaving some revellers confused.
The London Underground drivers are walking out over the sacking of a colleague who failed two alcohol breathalyser tests.
It's the latest of what's expected to be a series of strikes over the issue. A previous walkout affected the Northern Line for 24 hours in December but caused minimal disruption.
The Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union representing the workers has argued the driver's diabetes affected testing equipment. General secretary Mick Cash said there had been a campaign of "misinformation and smears" against the union.
London Underground's chief operating officer Nick Brown called the strike "indefensible".
