Tube strike August 2015: Free chocolate on-demand from Gett will sweeten Londoners’ commutes during Thursday’s travel hell
London commuters can clock up at least one potential win, as the hell that is a Tube strike approaches.
The taxi cab service Gett, which just last week launched a champagne on demand service, will now deliver chocolate to weary and frustrated commuters struggling to get around the city – and they're going to do it for free.
On Thursday, when no Tube's will be running at all (although DLR, Overground and rail services will at least), Gett will sweeten the pain by offering people a sweet treat in 10 minutes flat with just the tap of the app, delivering straight to your desk or door.
Anyone living or working in the City, Shoreditch, Clerkenwell, Knightsbridge, Chelsea, Belgravia and Kensington can use the service between 10am and 3pm.While it's a limited time service, Gett will in fact be adding to the permanent Gett Clicquot champagne on demand service.
And Londoner's are likely to welcome the much-needed respite from travel disruption in the capital, it may not be quite as healthy as the free gym classes offered by Fitness First during the last strike – but we would take a guess at which one the majority would prefer.
