Brace yourselves: The Victoria Line is about to partially shut down for three weeks with no trains between Seven Sisters and Walthamstow Central
Regular passengers on the Blue Bullet, aka the Victoria Line, should brace themselves, after Transport for London (TfL) warned part of it is about to shut down for three weeks.
From tomorrow, the line between Walthamstow and Seven Sisters will be closed until 20 August, it said – and while services between Seven Sisters and Brixton will continue to run, albeit at a lower frequency.
But TfL reckons once the upgrade is complete it will be able to run 36 trains an hour on the line – that's a train every 100 seconds. And all peak time trains will run from Walthamstow Central to Brixton, raising capacity by 40 per cent for those north of Seven Sisters.
Still, never fear: for those not willing to brave cycling to work…

… TfL has laid on rail replacement buses for Walthamstow Station. Joy.
"Customers are being reminded to plan ahead and allow more time for their journey," said TfL, helpfully. There's more information about the works here.
