Facebook just unveiled a messaging app for businesses
Facebook is looking to bring make business a social experience, with Business on Messenger. Unveiled today at Facebook’s F8 conference in San Francisco, it describes itself as enhancing “communications and interactions between people and business."
The idea is that customers can maintain relations with companies during after the commercial transactions. Facebooks said:
People can have rich and personal conversations with businesses. For example, after purchasing something from a website, people can choose to receive updates in Messenger and continue their conversation with the business in the app.
What is more, customers can communicate with the business during the order process, getting information on deliveries and changing or modifying requests.
Facebook is working hard to beef-up its messenger app in other ways too. The social media giant announced at its F8 conference in San Francisco that it is introducing a platform to allow other apps to integrate with messenger, opening it up to GIFs, videos, pictures, and audio clips, as well as emojis. Messenger has an estimated 600m monthly users.
