Three in 10 say their family life suffers because of work stress
When we leave the office, we find it hard to leave work worries behind.
According to a new report by Cyclescheme, the majority of UK workers find it hard to switch off at the end of the day, with some of us spending as many as 25 hours a week worrying about work when at home.
The effect this home-time worrying is having on our health is significant, according to the researchers – a quarter say they have no outlet to relieve their stress, while a third admit to occasionally breaking down in tears.
Three in 10 say their family life suffers because of work stress, and more than one in three suffers insomnia due to being unable to switch off at night.

After a particularly stressful day in the office, 38 per cent tend to feel physically sick, while 68 per cent feel exhausted.
Of all the possible causes of work stress, being given too many tasks was the biggest, with 43 per cent of those surveyed saying this caused significant anxiety out of working hours. Other big contributors to stress were technology failures and getting blamed for other people's mistakes.
