City boss wants MPs as interns so they can deal with the paperwork
Property group Panther Securities issued its interim results yesterday and, rather than praising the firm’s nearly £4m profit for the first half of the year, chairman Andrew Perloff took the opportunity to bemoan the unnecessary amounts of paperwork needed for his teenage daughter to sign her summer job contract (but he needed to write on a whole two sides of A4 to do so).
“I wondered why so many forests are needed to be cleared to produce the paper for these hugely extended employment contracts”, Perloff said, pointing the blame squarely at “Marxist” politicians who are too preoccupied with protecting workers’ rights to stop and consider the bosses’ paperwork.
Fortunately for department store managers and school leavers nationwide, Perloff had a solution.
He said: “All new ministers should have six months’ work experience in a medium-sized company in a managerial capacity, where they are forced to deal with the complexities of the laws they have made.”
Would the passing of this law not require more paperwork and deforestation? Think of the trees!
