Katharine Photiou has been appointed head of workplace defined contribution, product and proposition, at the investment management firm. She joins from Barclays, where she was head of workplace savings. Photiou has also held roles at Mercer and Friends Provident, latterly as head of defined contribution corporate strategy and design.
JP MORGAN ASSET MANAGEMENT
Patrick Thomson has been appointed to the newly-created role of head of international institutional clients at the asset management firm. He has been global head of sovereign clients since 2010, will continue in this role, and will continue to report to George Gatch, chief executive of JP Morgan Investment Management Global Clients.

The law firm has announced the appointment of Stuart Wortley as partner in its real estate litigation team. He joins from Pinsent Masons, where he was head of real estate litigation. Wortley’s background is in advising clients in complex, high-value property disputes.

Martin Stead has been appointed chief revenue officer at the online investment management service. He joins from EDF Energy, where he was marketing, digital and sales director. Stead has also previously held senior roles at Procter & Gamble.
CANADA LIFE INVESTMENTS
The asset manager has announced three appointments to its London-based property finance team. Dominic McHugh joins as new business manager from Nationwide Building Society. He has 13 years’ experience. Adam Lawrence joins as senior loan and credit risk manager from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he was vice president in credit risk. He has also held roles at Lloyds Banking Group and Allied Irish Bank. Jerzy Belcen joins as loan and credit risk manager from Hatfield Philips International, where he spent the past six years, and has also held roles at Jones Lang LaSalle.

Angus Gill has been appointed to the law firm’s corporate banking practice. He joins from Hogan Lovells, where he worked in its international banking practice. Gill has particular experience acting for both lenders and borrowers, including advising on the senior and mezzanine financing arrangements on acquisitions and in relation to real estate finance and restructurings.

John Amberton has been appointed partner in the professional services firm’s legal division’s international business reorganisations team. He joins from Baker & McKenzie, where he worked in its London corporate reorganisations team for nearly ten years. Amberton has particular experience leading on large scale cross-border corporate structuring.
