X-Factor judge Simon Cowell is London’s favourite mentor, CV library study claims
London workers are desperate for more mentors, according to a recent study. So much so, they would even choose Simon Cowell to coach them in the workplace.
As contestants on X-Factor reach the final stages and are left in the hands of their mentor, it turns out that this system should be copied in office life.
A study by CV Library found that over 95 per cent of London’s workers want more mentoring schemes in their line of work, but just under a quarter of people in the capital are actually offered a mentor by their employer.
Despite X-Factor fans dubbing Cowell as "Mr. Nasty", it appears the controversial judge’s honesty is what makes him our favourite mentor. 54 per cent of city workers said that the sharp-tongued judge would be their first choice for career guidance.
When asked who would help advance their careers the fastest, even more Londoners voted for Simon with 70 per cent putting their faith in his abilities.
Meanwhile, Cowell’s younger colleagues on the show didn’t do so well. Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw proved very unpopular, with almost half of workers saying they would try to avoid his advice altogether.
Lee Biggins, CV Library founder, said: “Nick and Rita [Ora] have been left behind in favour of their more seasoned colleagues, as city workers admit they’d prefer a mentor with solid experience in their field.”
So it’s official; Simon Cowell is London’s favourite X-Factor judge. Strange bunch, aren't we?
