Vegan-friendly pints from Guinness are coming to you next year
Vegans rejoice: Next year you will be able to drink a pint of Guinness, after the company announced it will be removing the fish guts from the brewing process.
The hearty Irish black-stuff will be made fully vegan for the first time since brewing began 256 years ago.

Currently the brewing process uses isinglass, a by-product of the fishing industry that helps yeast settle faster.
Most of the isinglass is filtered out during the brewing process, but there are traces of fish bladders left in the finished products, making the beverage a no-go for any strict vegetarian or vegan.
"Whilst isinglass is a very effective means of clarification, and has been used for many years, we expect to stop using it as the new filtration asset is introduced,” a Guinness spokesman told The Times.
This may sound like news to most, but a petition on Change launched three years ago by Tom Jones of Manchester called for the end of using isinglass.

The petition said: "There are many alternatives to isinglass which do not contain any animal products and are comparably effective. Switching would allow the world's billion-plus vegetarians to enjoy one of the most delicious alcoholic drinks there is – and it wouldn't even affect the taste."
