Andrew Knight is joining Crowell & Moring’s London office as a partner in its corporate and financial services practices to strengthen the firm’s ability to advise clients on debt finance and asset-based lending.His practice focuses on international financial law in the context of asset-based lending, syndications, restructurings, loan and receivables finance book sales, secondary market transactions, and distressed debt trading. He represents banks and non-bank lenders, especially asset-based lenders in the UK and US. He has particular experience negotiating, documenting, and restructuring multijurisdictional credit facilities extended to transnational borrowers and groups, including cross-border insolvencies and pre-packed exits.
Andrew has served as the lead partner in high-profile matters, including the collapse of the Icelandic bank, Landsbanki, and was lead counsel to lenders financing the acquisition of British Steel by Greybull Capital. “Andrew is a highly regarded finance lawyer who brings a vast amount of experience to the firm,” said Philip T Inglima, chair of Crowell & Moring. Knight joins from the London office of Squire Patton Boggs, where he was a partner in the banking & debt finance group.
Delta Capita
Delta Capita, the international FS consulting and managed services firm, has hired Philip Freeborn as group chief information officer (CIO) to head its global technology advisory practice and lead the development of its managed service technology platform. He will join Delta Capita’s ExCo and be based at their UK headquarters in Canary Wharf, London.
With more than 30 years’ industry experience, Philip has previously been chief technology officer and CIO at UBS Investment Bank and CIO at Barclays Investment Bank, responsible for IT and operations for both the Investment Banking and Wealth businesses.

DWF
Global legal business DWF has appointed Brendan Slack as a partner in the expanding banking and finance group. He joins the business from Dentons, and specialises in advising lenders, borrowers and private equity sponsors. His practice covers local, UK and international real estate finance (including real estate investment and development and senior and mezzanine finance deals), as well as asset-backed and energy & infrastructure transactions including the financing of data centres, capacity market and smart meter assets. At DWF, Brendan will lead the London real estate finance team within the banking and finance group and will be a member of the energy & infrastructure sector group within DWF.
