Kentish Town Tube incident: Man arrested for attempted murder after man pushed in front of oncoming train
A 29-year-old man has been arrested under suspicion of attempted murder, after a man was pushed in front of an oncoming train at Kentish Town Tube station yesterday.
The man, from Colindale, London, voluntarily attended a London Police station, after the service issued an image of the person they suspected of being behind the attack.
The image has since been withdrawn and journalists requested to remove it from their websites.
The victim – who eyewitnesses say was deliberately pushed in the path of an approaching Tube yesterday mid-morning – has suffered "life-changing injuries" as a result of the incident.
Detective superintendent Gary Richardson, of British Transport Police, said: “[The suspect] is currently in police custody helping officers with their enquiries. I would like to thank the public and the media for their help."
