Apple recalls plug adaptors over electrification fears
Apple has issued a major recall of wall plug adapters used around the world, with the tech firm warning they could cause an electric shock.
Plug adapters in Europe, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, New Zealand and South Korea, which were shipped with Mac and "certain" iOS devices between 2003 and 2015, have been recalled.
"In very rare cases, affected Apple two-prong wall plug adapters may break and create a risk of electrical shock if touched," the company said. "Apple is aware of 12 incidents worldwide."
The recall does not affect any other Apple AC wall plug adapters, which means those used in the UK are fine, as well as those designed for Canada, China, Hong Kong, Japan and the United States.

"Customer safety is always Apple's top priority, and we have voluntarily decided to exchange affected wall plug adapters with a new, redesigned adapter, free of charge", the firm said.
