Several users have reported seeing a dedicated gif button on the Twitter mobile app, just like the picture and polls options users have when posting a tweet now.

Twitter responded to a request for comment from TechCrunch, which first reported the news, with this:
It might not be a feature that can single handedly turn the troubled company around, but it's certainly going to make existing users happy:
