City Moves for 21 March 2016 | Who’s switching jobs
Redington
Independent investment consultancy Redington has appointed Mitesh Sheth (pictured) as chief executive, effective from 5 April. Mitesh, who is currently Redington’s director of strategy, joined the firm in 2013. Before that he was head of fixed income at Henderson Global Investors and has also held roles at both Watson Wyatt (now Willis Towers Watson) and Aon Consulting (now Aon Hewitt). He replaces the firm’s co-founders Robert Gardner and Dawid Konotey-Ahulu, who have held the combined roles of client consultants and co-chief execs since launching the company in 2006. The appointment of Mitesh allows Robert and Dawid to dedicate more of their time to clients, innovation and people development whilst ensuring that Redington has focused leadership, the group said. Robert and Dawid remain the majority shareholders of Redington.
Stephensons
National law firm Stephensons has appointed Yitendra Senghani as head conveyancer. He joins from London-based Pindoria Solicitors where he was a company director and led the conveyancing function, handling a high volume of transactions for residential and commercial clients. Yitendra will now lead Stephensons’ dedicated London conveyancing team, based in Hammersmith, assisting clients across the UK. Yitendra said: “I’m thrilled to be joining Stephensons. The new role is an excellent opportunity to work on a high volume of complex conveyancing cases in one of the most competitive markets in the UK.”
Addleshaw Goddard
Addleshaw Goddard has announced that head of corporate finance, Charles Penney, has been elected senior partner from 1 May 2016 for a period of three years. Andrew Carpenter also stood as a candidate in the election to succeed Monica Burch. A former secretary of the UK Takeover Panel, Charles joined AG in 2005 and is a well known figure in the City , acting for both domestic and international clients on substantial mergers and acquisitions (including, particularly, public takeovers), IPOs and other fundraisings, and joint ventures. Charles will combine his existing client responsibilities with his new leadership responsibilities.
Property Industry Alliance
Bill Hughes, head of Legal & General Investment Management’s real assets platform, has been appointed chairman of the Property Industry Alliance (PIA), as it looks to encourage further collaboration across the industry, ensuring that its contribution to the economy and society at large is fully understood and maximised. Bill takes over from Sir Robert Finch, who has chaired the PIA for the past five years and who in turn took over from Sir David Clementi.
