Elsewhere, United States president Barack Obama today told Belgium his country “has their back”.
He said: “Belgium is a close friend and ally of the United States.
"And when it comes to our friends, America has their back. Especially as we fight the scourge of terrorism.”
Yesterday, arrests were reported in Belgium, Germany and France. And it was confirmed that a Briton, David Dixon, 53 – who was from Nottingham but lived in Brussels – was among those killed in the attack.
