Bevan Brittan
Law firm Bevan Brittan has announced that Joanne Easterbrook has been appointed senior partner with effect from 1 May 2016. Joanne succeeds Bethan Evans in the post, who is returning to full-time local government client work. Joanne is a highly experienced partner and recognised specialist, leading the firm’s clinical risk practice and counting the NHS litigation authority among her major clients. She has been a partner at Bevan Brittan since 2004 and is based in the firm’s London office.
Edison
Edison, the international equity research firm, has appointed Robert Murphy as its new head of investment trusts as part of the division’s ongoing expansion. Robert joins the London office as head of investment trusts in the UK. Formerly a managing director of equity research at HSBC London, he led the coverage of the major global investment banks and worked on numerous strategic projects for group and global banking & markets. A chartered financial analyst, Robert has more than 25 years’ experience as a fund manager and equities analyst. Before HSBC, he was global financials analyst at Gladstone Partners, covering companies across North America and Europe and spanning banks, insurers and real estate. This followed a number of fund manager roles held at Merebis Capital, GLG and Gartmore. Robert began his career as a graduate trainee at Henderson Global Investors, before joining JP Morgan as an analyst covering European banks and real estate.
Winckworth Sherwood
Law firm Winckworth Sherwood has strengthened its residential sales team with the appointment of partner Jodie Campbell. Jodie joins Winckworth Sherwood from law firm Howard Kennedy, where she was head of its residential and investment team.
Growthdeck
Growthdeck, the equity crowdfunding platform which launched earlier this year, has announced that Kevin Bacon, former managing director of Jamie Oliver international restaurants, has joined its expert advisory panel. A veteran in the hospitality industry, Kevin is currently chief executive at Urban Legacies, the specialised strategic advisory and management consultancy in the leisure, entertainment and hospitality industries, as well as managing director of his own consultancy practice, KJB Restaurants Limited. Prior to this, Kevin helped to expand the Jamie’s Italian brand overseas. He was also managing director at The Restaurant Group, where he co-founded the popular family restaurant chain Frankie and Benny’s.
