David Bowie dominates the 2016 album charts so far this year
While Adele takes the top spot for biggest album so far this year, it is David Bowie who has dominated the charts.
His last album, Blackstar, which was released days before he died, took second place in the album charts with 345,000 combined sales.
Adele's album 25 had combined sales of 406,000. Combined sales are based on physical, digital and streaming equivalent sales.

But Bowie commanded the chart, with six albums in the top 40.
In addition to Blackstar, Bowie had two more albums in the top 10: 2002's Best Of Bowie at number four and 2014's Nothing has Changed – The Very Best of David Bowie at number 10.
Entries further down are Hunky Dory at 22, The Rise And Fall Of Ziggy Stardust And The Spiders From Mars at 24 and Aladdin Sane at 38.
The legendary singer died aged 69 after an 18-month battle with cancer in January.
