EU referendum: Left Leave campaign rally tonight in Euston
While the Labour party officially backs remaining in the EU, some on the left are less than impressed by the UK's membership.
In that vein, a rally is being held tonight in Euston with a range of speakers who aim to put forward an internationalist argument against the EU.
The meeting will be start at nine, and will be attended by speakers from France, Ireland, Spain and the UK.
The group organising the event, Left Leave, say that come 23 June voters are facing a choice between David Cameron’s pro-EU campaign (or the pipe-dream of a "Social Europe") on the one hand, and the reactionary anti-EU campaigning of Ukip and the Tory right on the other.
So the group started to build a "principled, anti-racist and internationalist campaign, committed to democracy, social justice and environmental sustainability".
The framework runs counter to the rhetoric of Jeremy Corbyn, John McDonnell, Alan Johnson and others leading the Labour movement to remain, which is also based on social justice and environmental protection.
