Passengers and crew injured in turbulence on Malaysia Airlines flight from London
Passengers and crew were sustained minor injuries today during a bout of severe turbulence on a Malaysia Airlines flight from London to Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia Airlines flight MH1, carrying 378 passengers and crew, experienced "a brief moment of severe turbulence" over the Bay of Bengal, Reuters reported.
A "small number" of injured passengers and crew on board the Airbus A380 received medical attention on arrivial on Sunday, the company said.
It also sincerely apologised "for any inconvenience caused by this weather event which was entirely beyond our control."
Photos shared on social media show toppled food carts, food littering the aisle of the cabin, as well as broken overhead lockers.
