Funding Circle
Lending platform Funding Circle has appointed Jeremy Bennett as its new global chief financial officer. Jeremy has more than three decades of experience within financial services, working for Credit Suisse, before becoming CEO of Nomura in Europe, Middle East and Africa and CEO of Nomura International. During the financial crisis, he acted as a senior adviser to the Financial Services Authority and HM Treasury. He was responsible for designing the £800bn Asset Protection Scheme that provided insurance to all UK banks in 2008.
British Chambers of Commerce
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) has appointed Francis Martin its new president, succeeding Nora Senior who stands down after three years. Francis, who will be the business group’s first president from Northern Ireland, was officially appointed at the BCC’s annual general meeting after serving as vice president since 2013. Francis is a partner in BDO Northern Ireland, and has over 20 years’ experience in corporate finance and business advisory locally and international. Formerly president of Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he was recently awarded Northern Ireland Dealmaker of the Year 2016.
Colliers International
Global property advisors Colliers International has appointed Peter Leyburn as EMEA director of client services. Peter will be based in London and will be responsible for Colliers’ EMEA client programme.Peter joins Colliers International from CBRE where he was most recently a senior director in the EMEA office agency and tenant rep team. He has over 20 years of experience having held senior positions at DTZ/Cushman and CB Richard Ellis in the past. Peter provides strategic and asset management advice to major landlords and property funds.
Impact Oil and Gas
Impact Oil and Gas, the African-focused pure exploration company, has appointed Geraldine Murphy to its board as a non-executive director. Geraldine has over 25 years of deal-making experience across multiple geographies. Most recently she was managing director, global head, oil and gas corporate advisory at Standard Chartered where she advised clients on multiple transactions with a cumulative deal value exceeding $35bn. Geraldine also served as head of corporate finance Europe for the bank. Geraldine started her career as a geologist, before moving into energy advisory with Lovegrove & Associates, then joining CIBC World Markets in Calgary and London as an executive director between 1996 and 1999.
