US Presidential Election 2016: Donald Trump taps Indiana governor Mike Pence as running mate
Donald Trump has picked his running mate in the 2016 presidential election.
The billionaire property magnate said on Twitter: "I am pleased to announced that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M."

It is thought that Trump, who has had his problems with the Republican establishment, is hoping Pence can bolster up the ticket's support among the party.
House speaker Newt Gingrich and New Jersey governor Chris Christie were also in the running.

Before becoming governor, Pence was in the House of Representatives.
Democrat rival Hillary Clinton has responded to the selection with a video drawing attention to some of Pence's views:
