Elon Musk just revealed a “ludicrous” move for Tesla’s product range
Tesla has today announced revamped versions of its Model S and Model X, which will take advantage of a more powerful battery pack.
Chief executive Elon Musk has revealed the upgraded vehicles will take advantage of a feature called "Ludicrous mode" to offer the fastest acceleration among Tesla's offering so far.
"I think this is going to send a great message to the public that sustainable transport is the future," Musk is quoted as saying by CNBC.
Last month, Musk revealed an update to the Tesla grand plan he originally penned a decade ago. His announcement included a list of projects the company currently had its eye on including solar powered roofs for vehicles, pick-up trucks and a shared fleet offering.
However, earlier this month, Tesla Motors posted disappointing earnings for its second quarter, reporting a net loss of $293m (£222m), widening from the $184.2m loss revealed for the same quarter in 2015 and marking the company's 13th quarterly loss in a row.
Shares in Tesla Motors have stayed relatively flat throughout the course of the last year, trading just four per cent higher.
