Fancy a career change? These are the best paying jobs in the world’s top cities, according to Emolument
If you're looking to make a change in your career, it might be worth considering a move abroad, and more specifically, heading for the Big Apple.
New York is where the highest paying roles can be found, according to research from salary-benchmarking site Emolument.com, which has analysed 5,162 pay data points for professionals working in New York, London, Paris and Zurich.
And if you really want to make the big bucks, trading is your best bet – it's the highest paid job in New York, London and Paris – and Emolument pointed out that despite the higher cost of living in the US city, traders are still better off there than in either of the European capitals.
However, legal professionals shouldn't set their hearts on a move to New York, as it's not the best option when comparing pay and cost of living with the European cities on the list. The best pay for legal workers is in Zurich – but when adjusting for cost of living, pay packages are just as attractive in London and Paris.

"Financial services remains by far the best paying industry globally as bonuses boost the total pay package far beyond other jobs," said Alice Leguay, co-founder and chief operating officer at Emolument.com.
"The high concentration of financial professionals in some locations such as Zurich, London and New York is a contributing factor to the high costs of living with bankers pushing up property prices in the most desirable locations."
