Sainsbury’s to install 20 Argos outlets in time for Christmas
Sainsbury's is set to install another 20 Argos outlets inside its supermarkets in the latest move to integrate the two stores following Sainsbury's acquisition of Argos-owner Home Retail Group (HRG).
The supermarket giant completed the £1.4bn takeover of HRG, which also owned Homebase until earlier this year, at the end of last week, after being given the green light by shareholders and regulators over the summer.
The combined group has wasted no time in putting plans into action, with the new tie-up between the brands taking the total number of Argos digital concessions inside Sainsbury's stores to 30. Sainsbury's is aiming to have them ready in time for the crucial Christmas shopping season.

A total of five mini Habitat stores will also open in Sainsbury's supermarkets over the rest of the year as part of the shake-up.
Sainsbury's chief executive Mike Coupe said: "This is the start of an exciting new phase for Sainbury's, Argos and Habitat. I am delighted to be able to capitalise on the benefits of our combined group by opening more Argos digital concessions in our stores and introducing the mini Habitat format to our customers."
