Colliers International
Global real estate advisor Colliers International has appointed Sorcha Murphy to its EMEA corporate solutions team as an associate director. Sorcha joins Colliers from JLL, where she’s spent the past 10 years in their corporate solutions department, working as a portfolio manager on some of their largest corporate accounts. Whilst employed by JLL, Sorcha worked on both the service provider side, as an account manager for Iron Mountain and portfolio manager/operations manager for P&G; and client side on secondments into Barclays, GlaxoSmithKline’s and latterly BlackRock’s corporate real estate departments. Sorcha has specialised in working on global, integrated accounts and has vast experience across EMEA markets. She has been based primarily in London but spent 15 months in Brussels during the P&G account set up.
LPEQ
LPEQ, an international platform of listed private equity companies, has appointed Mark Florman, former CEO of the BVCA, as its new chairman. Mark's career in financial services spans some 30 years. Following an early career in banking, including the creation and leadership of one of the leading independent investment banks in Europe, he was a senior principal at Doughty Hanson from 2001 to 2008. He went on to form the private equity business 8 Miles and was CEO of the BVCA from January 2011 until April 2013, where he encouraged a new dialogue with regulators and politicians focusing on the role of private equity and venture capital in driving economic growth in Europe's economies. In 2014, Mark became a trustee of the BBC Trust and is the BBC trustee for England.
AXA Investment Managers
AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM) has appointed Amelie Watelet as its global head of human resources and a member of AXA IM’s Management board. She joins from AXA Group where she was most recently global head of HR, communication and corporate Responsibility for AXA Tech and the AXA Group IT teams. Amelie has 20 years of HR experience in designing and implementing workforce strategies. Laurence Boone, head of research and investment strategy at AXA IM and chief economist for AXA Group, has also been appointed to AXA IM’s management board. Laurence joined AXA IM in March 2016 from the Elysée where she was special advisor to the French President on multilateral and European economic and financial affairs. Prior to this she was chief economist Europe at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and chief economist France at Barclays Capital.
RBC WEALTH MANAGEMENT
RBC Wealth Management has named John Younger as managing director, sales and relationship management. John will lead the business owners and entrepreneurs client segment team. In this role he is responsible for executing that segment’s client-focused strategy and growth. He brings almost 25 years of industry experience, including 18 years with RBC in its capital markets business in Toronto and New York. Since 2010, he has held a number of senior positions in industry and public service, including his role at the Bank of England as senior advisor to the fair and effective markets review.
