UHY Hacker Young
UHY Hacker Young has appointed Martin Jones as a new partner in its London audit and assurance team. Martin joins from Ecovis Wingrave Yeats, where he was a partner in the audit team. He brings over 30 years of experience providing audit, financial reporting, outsourcing and advisory services to firms of all sizes, across a range of sectors. He has experience working both in the UK and internationally and has specialist in-depth knowledge of the hospitality and media sectors. Martin joined Ecovis Wingrave Yeats in 2008. Prior to that he spent time at PKF as a director in assurance and advisory services, beginning in 2006. Between 1999 and 2006 he worked as a senior audit manager at KPMG.
Kames Capital
Kames Capital has strengthened its high yield bond team with the recruitment of Jack Holmes as investment manager. Reporting to Ennett, Jack joins Kames from Standard Life Investments where he was an analyst on its European high yield team covering a variety of sectors including general industrials, waste and recycling and oil and gas services. His appointment follows that of David Ennett who recently joined Kames as Head of High Yield and the return of Phil Milburn to the business.
Freshfields
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed international arbitration specialist Will Thomas as a partner to its market-leading international arbitration practice. Will is currently based in Paris from where he runs the Eversheds international arbitration group. In his new role Will is to be based in London. He will also spend time working with the Freshfields Paris team to further strengthen London/Paris collaboration and help build out the London presence of the public international law practice headed by Paris-based partner Ben Juratowitch. Will’s practice at Eversheds has included arguing important cases before the Iran-US Claims Tribunal, investor-state arbitrations, and commercial disputes in the energy and telecoms sectors. He operates in some of the most challenging emerging markets and works for clients that include States, State entities and multinational corporations.
Walker Crips
Walker Crips, the integrated investment and wealth management group, has appointed Holly Ward and Edward Lester, as investment managers. Based in its City of London head office, both join from Charles Stanley where they worked as investment managers. Holly has over a decade of experience, beginning her career at Charles Stanley in 2004 as a graduate trainee while Edward joined the firm in 2007, having previously worked at the Parliamentary Health Service Ombudsman. Holly and Edward’s appointment expands the existing team in offering a range of investment services to private clients, including discretionary, advisory and execution only.
