Dele Alli praises Heung-Min Son after Korean’s double lifts Tottenham to second in Premier League
Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli has hailed Heung-Min Son’s start to the season after the South Korea forward struck his second brace in three Premier League games to sink Middlesbrough 2-1 on Saturday.
Son almost left Spurs in the summer after a patchy first campaign in north London but has helped the club to second in the table with four goals in four games.
“He’s a fantastic player and deserves all the credit he should be getting. He’s on fire and hopefully he’ll keep it going,” said Alli, who highlighted Son’s second goal at the Riverside Stadium.

“I was right behind it. I don’t know why he said he was so shocked about it; you see him do it all the time in training and he’s always working on his finishing.”
Alli was also encouraged by the display of £18m summer signing Vincent Janssen in place of injured striker Harry Kane.
“There is no hiding how good Harry is, he’s a great striker and a great goalscorer,” he added. “Vincent did really well, held the ball up. He’s so strong and a pleasure to play with, good to play off and a threat as well.”
Tottenham midfielder Moussa Sissoko, meanwhile, is a doubt for Tuesday’s Champions League trip to CSKA Moscow after he suffered a head injury at Middlesbrough.
