Good Energy Group
Aim-quoted renewable energy company Good Energy Group has appointed Neil Pidgeon as its investor relations manager. Neil brings 30 years of City stockbroking and investment banking experience to the management team of the vertically integrated green energy supplier, whose mission is to tackle climate change, and help the UK achieve energy security. He has previously worked at Wood Mackenzie/Nat West Securities, ABN AMRO Hoare Govett, Paribas, Credit Lyonnais, and a variety of small cap boutiques, and joins from blue chip independent research house, Hardman & Co.
Grant Thornton
Business and financial adviser Grant Thornton has strengthened its regional leadership team with the promotion of Jon Maile to partner. Jon is head of audit at the firm's Gatwick office and works with a range of dynamic businesses in Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Jon has come through the ranks at Grant Thornton, having initially joined the firm as a graduate trainee. Jon is a specialist in financial reporting under both IFRS and UK GAAP. He has extensive experience in working with businesses with established international operations and those with ambitions to expand their business overseas, as well as with entrepreneurial mid corporates and listed companies.
Brickendon
Financial management and technology consultancy Brickendon has appointed Hugh Whelan as a non-executive director. As such, Hugh will be responsible for providing strategic advice to Brickendon’s senior management team to build the business organically. Bringing a different dynamic to Brickendon, Hugh has been working in the financial services sector for over 18 years’ holding senior roles at Dresdner Bank, Mizuho, Bayerische Landesbank and Commerzbank. He began his career as an accountant before moving into investment banking, specifically risk management and foreign exchange. Hugh was previously an associated director for Fx Spotstream LLC, a multibank FX aggregation platform. Currently head of liquidity management for EBS BrokerTec’s relationship-based trading venue, EBS Direct, Hugh is responsible for the growth and development of liquidity to establish a healthy, efficient and liquid marketplace.
Pinsent Masons
International law firm Pinsent Masons has bolstered its planning and consenting team with the appointment of Emma Harling-Phillips as a partner working across its infrastructure, energy and real estate sectors. Emma will join from DLA Piper and is a qualified barrister, having previously been a tenant at Landmark Chambers. She specialises in obtaining planning and other regulatory approvals for major transport infrastructure, energy and real estate developments, with both public and private sector clients. Most recently, Emma has successfully promoted a number of development consent orders (DCO) in the roads and power station sectors and helped defend the first development consent order in the Court of Appeal.
