EY
EY has appointed Darra Singh to lead its UK government and public sector practice. EY’s UK government and public sector team advises local authorities, government departments, the NHS and other public bodies on how they can improve their services and deliver greater value for money. Darra has led EY’s Local and Public Services team, which focuses on local authorities, since October 2014 and has over 30 years’ experience working with clients across the public and voluntary sectors. Prior to joining EY, Darra was chief executive at Job Centre Plus as well as Ealing and Luton Councils. He chaired the government-appointed communities and victims panel, which investigated the causes of the London riots in 2011, and was also appointed as chair of the Independent Commission on Local Government Finance in 2015.
KPMG
KPMG in the UK has appointed Aidan Brennan as head of solutions. In his new role, Aidan will lead the firm’s investments in new technology solutions and services for clients. He will also transform the way KPMG delivers advice to business, using new technologies, service models and the firm’s alliances. He replaces Karen Briggs, who has been appointed to lead the firm’s Brexit response. Aidan was previously the firm’s global head of Management Consulting and tripled the practice’s revenues in seven years.
Balderton Capital
Balderton Capital has appointed Anna Thomsen as head of investor relations. In this role, Anna will work closely with the firm's partnership and investment team to support the firm’s investor relations and fundraising activities. Anna joins from Paulson & Co., where she was a director of investor relations. During her time at Paulson & Co., Anna covered US institutional and European investors. Anna played a key role in developing Paulson’s most recent distressed fund, and led relationships with key global investors. Previously Anna worked for the Boston Consulting Group for over four years, advising companies in a range of sectors, in both London and New York. Anna is returning to the technology industry, having started her career at Google, in the international advertising operations team.
RiverPeak Wealth
Shauna Bevan is joining RiverPeak Wealth, as head of investment advisory and a senior member of its investment committee. Shauna joins RiverPeak from Charles Stanley where she was lead manager in that firm’s Collectives Portfolio Service, co-head of fund research and also sat on their investment strategy committee. Prior to Charles Stanley, whom she joined in 2003, she worked for Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, as well as Merrill’s Private Client Group.
