In pictures: London landmarks shrouded in thick (but Halloween-appropriate) fog
Londoners awoke to a decidedly spooky scene this morning, after the capital was shrouded in thick fog.
Such was the limit to visibility, the Met Office issued a severe weather warning, with road users being advised that travelling in the capital could be dangerous and a “potential to cause danger to life or widespread disruption”.
Yesterday all TFL river services were suspended due to dense fog. Today there were delays on C2C rail services and the Woolwich ferry.
“Dense fog patches will affect parts of eastern and southern England this morning. Be aware of the potential for difficult driving conditions with slower journey times.” The Met Office said. Although most fog over the south and east is expected to clear, with the afternoon becoming sunny and mild.
Still, social media users made the most of it, pointing out the appropriateness of this occurring on Halloween…
